Okay.... here i go:7 things you (probably) didn' t know about me:

1. PINKA is the name of my webshop but ALSO the official brand-name/trademark which i´ve registrated. Just to keep standing up and not being blown away by bigger trademarks who might regeister after me. This already happened to me in 2006 with my formal brand-name.
2. Lately I am less busy with sewing due to a back-injury. In autumn-winter 2008 i wasn´t able to drive car, go on bike and later on even had difficulty walking. In march 2009 I had been operated at a herniated disc in my lower back.
3. The reason i started selling Tilda-items is related to point 3: I need to do less sitting work
4. Another thing you probably don´t know:
I lived in Italy, Alessandria for almost 4 years to be near my love. Now we both live in Holland, got married and have 2 kids: a boy (8 years old) and a girl (6 years old). I speak Italian fluently.
5. I spend half of my time or sometimes more on my other job at Italie2go. I sell advertisements, write articles and do PR, working on my laptop at home, sitting or lying down. (yes, i can do that).
6. I have another addicted hobby and job but lately i had to do some stepd back: teaching in the gym. I have several diplomes for steps/aerobictrainer, fitnesstrainer, pregnancy trainer and spinningteacher. Love to move on music.
7. I used to work with minors which matches with my studies. I quit working there when my son was born in 2001.

Hey:-) It is easier than i thought: can name some other points about me, you don´t know. uAH! Maybe next time.....;-)

Vintage Brooche for Christmas

In Jail

Yesterday i´ve been in jail for one day. No lonelyness at all. It had been big fun and great sales for pinka at the Holy Stitch!-event in the old prison of Leeuwarden.

Petit Bazaar

Helaas kan ik hier met mijn PINKA-webwinkel niet aanwezig zijn: té ver. Wel heb ik geadverteerd in het boekje van Petit Bazaar.

En we hebben leuks in petto: Petit Bazaar wordt niet alleen dubbel zo groot, onze nieuwe locatie is supervlot bereikbaar, we hebben enkele speciale extraatjes voorzien en er er zijn weer heel wat nieuwe shops van de partij met hartveroverende spulletjes! Bovendien heeft de Sint ook iets lekkers voor de kleintjes en kan je allerlei unieke sint- en kerstcadeautjes shoppen...

And even MORE mushrooms

As i said, mushrooms are my favorite autumn-item. I´ve been sewing mushrooms and this weekend, my 8 year old son, had been making these mushrooms with needlefelt using a DIY-kit which you can buy here!


Ik ben weer bezig geweest met paddenstoelen naaien, mijn favoriete herfst-onderwerp. Ook mijn 8 jaar oude zoon heeft paddenstoelen gemaakt van naaldvilt. Hij heeft hiervoor het zelfmaakpakket gebruikt dat hier te koop is.

Tweed Bags

Autumn is one of my favourite seasons (the other is spring). I love to walk outside in these changing colours. Birds are busier than ever. Almost every day i have a walk. With or without kids. I saw a little hedgehog last weekend: so cute:-) And then the red mushrooms: my favourite (for dinner i chose other ones) and so today i have been sewing mushrooms. I´ll show them later this week. First the old news cause as always, i give you old news;-)
I had been sewing 2 new bags. Available in my webshop and ofcourse made one for myself! Guess which one of them?

Herfst is een van mijn favoriete seizoenen (de andere is lente). Het is heerlijk om buiten te wandelen in die kleurenpracht. De vogels hebben het drukker dan ooit. Bijna iedere dag ben ik wel even buiten voor een wandelingetje met of zonder kinderen. Vorige week zag ik een jonge egel: zo schattig! En dan de rode paddestoelen, mijn favoriete, alhoewel ik voor het avondeten toch andere verkies! Ik heb vanavond dan ook alleen maar paddenstoeltjes genaaid. Rood met witte stippen. Die krijgen jullie later te zien. Oud nieuws eerst;-)
Ik heb 2 nieuwe tassen genaaid: verkrijgbaar in mijn webwinkel. Natuurlijk ook een exemplaar voor mezelf gemaakt. Raad eens welke van de twee?

Ik ben zo blij: de nieuwe Tilda Leaflet ´tilda´s Christmas Ideas´ ( tildas juleideer) is echt geweldig! Leuke nieuwe ideeen om te naaien incl. patronen. Het boekje heeft 40 A4 pagina´s.Ik lever de boekjes met een aparte Engelse beschrijving erbij! De foto´s hierboven geven een indruk van de nieuwe collectie. Ik heb meteen e.e.a. besteld voor in mijn webwinkel. Ook de Tilda - producten die uitverkocht waren, worden komende week aangevuld. Sla je slag!

New old lamp - Brocaatje

Ah:-) Yesterdaymorning i went to get my new old lamp at Brocaatje. Talked for an hour,went home, made it work immediately and look here: in the evening we had a cosy dinner under warm winterlight. I told you: autumn- I´m ready!

Ha, gisterochtend ben ik bij Brocaatje geweest om mijn nieuwe oude kroonluchter op te halen. Na een dik uur kletsen kwam ik met de lamp thuis. Meteen zelf opgehangen en aangesloten. Lampjes erin gedraaid en voila. Mijn man en dochter vinden hem geweldig. Mijn zoontje vond de oude lamp mooier maar ja.... hier moet ie het mee doen. De lamp geeft heerlijk gezellig licht. We hebben ´m dan ook meteen aangehad in de avond. Ik zei het je toch al? Herfst: ik ben er klaar voor!

mushroom candles

I found these old bottles in a local thrift-store. Inside some soft green moss, pearls and a mushroom-candle. Some elastic red gingham around the top for a finishing touch. They look just great on the outside-table and no rain can go inside. Autumn: we´re ready!

Bij een locale kringloopwinkel vond ik deze brocante weckpotten. Binnenin een tafereeltje met mos, pareltjes en een paddenstoel-kaarsje. Rondom de rand een elastisch geruit roezelrandje. Zelf wil ik ze de hele dag kunnen zien en staan dus op mijn vensterbank. Buiten doen ze het ook goed omdat het er niet in kan regenen.
Herfst: we zijn er klaar voor!

eijffinger-blister cushion

There it goes.
I made this cushion some time ago, using a lilac fabric from Eijffinger combining it with mixed linen-cotton.
On the linen i drawed the same style symbols as in the eijffinger-fabric. Then i used 2 colors or purple wool as stitchery. Just that the linen-cotton was this fine, my needle and wool couldn´t get through. I had to use a pincer every single stitch to get through. Therefor it wasn´t possible to sew on in just one eve.
Evenings and blisters.... and now it´s gone.

Daar gaat ´ie.
Ik heb dit kussen al een tijdje geleden gemaakt van eijffinger-stof, gecombineerd met een mixed linnen-katoen.
Op het linnen heb ik een soortgelijk symbool getekend als op de aijffinger-stof om het vervolgens met 2 tinten paarse wol door te stikken. Dat viel echter tegen. Omdat het linnen zo dicht geweven is, kon ik er onmogelijk met mijn naald doorkomen. Ik had er een tang bij nodig. Avonden en blaren....en daar gaat ´ie nu.

When girls have birthdays....

When girls have birthdays...moms get busy.
And so did I. A schoolmate of my son had her birthday and so i had been sewing some more Tilda-wings with glitters This time in babyblue so tat it fits with her new dress.

Als meisjes jarig zijn, krijgen moeders het druk. En zo ook deze moeder. Een schoolvriendinnetje van mijn zoon was jarig. Daarom ben ik weer Tilda vleugels met glitter gaan naaien. Deze keer in het babyblauw zodat het past bij haar nieuwe jurk.

Small girls, small bags

A small girl who has her birthday soon, inspired me to make this smal bag. I love the combination of red en pink polkadots, as you might already have noticed. The iron-on Bambi and PINKA aplique i bought at Applicatie en zo.

Een klein meisje dat binnenkort jarig is, inspireerde me tot het maken van dit tasje. I houd van de combinatie roze-rood, zoals jullie misschien al is opgevallen. De opstrijk-applicatie van Bambi en PINKA-logo heb ik van Applicatie enzo.

Rainy day, payday

A rainy weekend. For the kids not a reason at al to stay inside. Big drops fallin´ down while they played outside in the mud. Making a wooden bridge for people who wanted to pass. Not for nothing...oh no! Everyone who did not want to walk in the mud and pass through with dry feet over their bridge, had to pay 5 eurocent.
Only no-one passed: it was too rainy for adults.....

Een regenachtig weekend. Voor de kinderen was dit geen reden om binnen te blijven. Ze speelden achter het huis op het natuurpad in de modder. Ze hadden een brug gemaakt van vlonders voor een ieder die met droge voeten langs wilde. Niet voor niks, hoor! Nee nee. Óf door de modder óf over de vlonder. Maar dan wel eerst 5 cent betalen.
Helaas kwam er niemand langs. Te regenachtig voor grote mensen.....

Just before leaving for holiday, i´ve made this wonderfull picture-album. I really love this item, made with pink and red polkadot cotton, some elastic gingham lace and a bird-aplique.

Sirolo - Italy

I took some time but yet i´m back from my holiday in Italy. We´ve been at the Conero-coast in a small village called Sirolo. It was just lovely. Our 3 weeks passed like nothing. So much fun, so bueatiful beach and clear water......

Fathers´ day and a piece of rope

Today was Father´s day and so my kids were excited waiting for dad to wake up. The presents were hidden at home since a week.




Then some secret words on doors: Don´t disturb, it says, written by my 6 year old daughter as best as she can.....


A bit rainy it was today and on Sundays there are only a few kids out to play. What can we do? We asked our grandpa to give us a piece of rope. It must guarantee for some ours of fun in the parc behind our house. Some ropejumping and....Jipieee! High we fly!

Old cup, new pincushion

Already a year ago, i saw these somewhere on the internet. I´d love to place the tutorial but hmmm... really don´t remember where i saw it. It kept coming up in my mind so when i bought this rose-cup and saucer at a local thriftstore last week, it was easy knowing what to do with it. Some fabric, some glue and some of my childrens´ beads.
